Opening Keynote Presentation with Ed Yong

During the Opening Plenary Session at the 2018 ASTC Annual Conference in Hartford, Connecticut, science writer Ed Yong spoke about the critical need for increasing diversity in science, how he has evaluated his own practices in reporting and interviewing, and the actions he’s personally taking in his work as a result.

Yong is a science journalist who reports for The Atlantic. His work has been featured in National Geographic, the New Yorker, Wired, Nature, New Scientist, Scientific American, and many more. His first book, I Contain Multitudes: The Microbes Within Us and a Grander View of Life, was a New York Times bestseller, and a clue on Jeopardy!
