After months of preparation and anticipation, more than 1,500 attendees have flown, driven, or taken a train to Hartford, Connecticut, for the 2018 ASTC Annual Conference, hosted by the Connecticut Science Center.
A stirring keynote on Saturday morning by renowned science journalist Ed Yong, the disco-fantastic Saturday Night Party at the science center, the Alan J. Friedman Science Center Dialogues on Sunday, the resource-rich Exhibit Hall on Saturday and Sunday, and Tuesday’s Museum Experience Day and Big Screen Day are just a few of the many highlights coming up during the four-day festival of networking, sharing, and learning.
Throughout the conference, nearly 150 concurrent educational sessions and poster presentations will focus on topics including leadership, programming, exhibits, development and member relations, innovations in science and technology, community engagement and outreach, and more. In addition, exceptional opportunities for networking and information sharing include: the new Chat and Chew discussion dinners (sign up here), ASTC Community of Practice meet-ups, post-session discussion groups, an interactive community space, and more. The ASTC Annual Conference continues to be a remarkable professional development opportunity for the global science center community.
Thank you to Connecticut Science Center, and all the friendly, helpful, purple-clad staff members for welcoming the ASTC community to Hartford, and to all the conference sponsors who help make this gathering possible!
