ASTC partners with Climate Interactive for a COP21 event

ASTC is organizing all science center networks to participate in the COP21 meeting later this year. COP21 events will be interactive and streamed live online (viewing details to be announced at a later date). ASTC has been looking for an opportunity to allow all members to actively participate in the event, as well, which led to ASTC’s partnership with Climate Interactive (CI).

CI recently launched the World Climate Project at the White House Climate Education event. This project provides resources that allow anyone to participate in their own United Nations (UN) climate simulation. The jewel of this project is the World Climate Exercise, developed by Climate Interactive and MIT, which allows participants to step into the role of UN representatives for lively, thought-provoking discussions around climate change, simulating the discussions that will take place in Paris.

ASTC invites all members to take part in this exciting opportunity and host a World Climate Exercise at their institution. To learn how and find all of the materials you need, visit the World Climate Project website. You can also register your event and see other events taking place around the world. A special training webinar hosted by Climate Interactive on how to organize and lead the game in a science center or museum will be held on September 24 at 1:00 p.m. ET. Registration is now open.
