The breadth and depth of events produced by institutions around the world for International Science Center and Science Museum Day (ISCSMD) on November 10 was stunning.

From STEM programs for Syrian refugee children—to a science café for girls and women scientists—to children sticking their arms into mosquito tanks—and everything in between—it was a global festival of science and sustainability on every continent.

On December 14, ISCSMD hosted a webcast discussion examining both the practical and the inspirational in this year’s events around the world with team members from

  • Arizona Science Center, Sari Custer and Kristin Priscella (Phoenix, Arizona, United States)
  • The Franklin Institute, Mickey Maley (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States)
  • Futuristas, Jennifer Breslin (multinational)
  • Glasgow Science Centre, Sharon Lyons (Scotland, United Kingdom)
  • International Center for Life, Noel Jackson (Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom)
  • The Mind Museum, Maribel Garcia (Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines)
  • Ontario Science Centre, Karen Hager (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
  • Parque Explora, Marggie Riaza (Medellin, Colombia)
  • Singapore Science Center, Tit Meng (TM) Lim
  • Unizulu Science Centre, Derek Fish (Richards Bay, South Africa)
  • WGBH, Saranya Sathananthan for Design Squad Global project (multinational)
