Newsweek Readers’ Choice Awards honors ASTC members

Newsweek Newsweek has named the winners of Readers’ Choice Awards, and ASTC-member institutions are, once again, well-represented. The publication convened expert panels to identify a list of candidates that were then subject to a public vote; individuals could vote once per day in each category.

 

Best Science Museum

In the Best Science Museum category, Lowell Observatory, last year’s #9, jumped to the top of the list and knocked OMSI out of the top spot.

Best Children’s Museum

In the vote for Best Children’s Museum, Impression 5 Science Center took the top spot, with ASTC members taking half of the top ten.

Best Free Museum

The top vote-getter for Best Free Museum is Saint Louis Science Center, which also was named #2 free museum and the top planetarium in the USA TODAY 10Best list.

Best Art Museum

You may not always think of ASTC members being considered as an art museum, but Corning Museum of Glass was voted as the third best art museum in the country.
