Natural History Network

ASTC's Natural History Network

ASTC’s Natural History Network provides infrastructure for dialogue, networking, and knowledge-exchange for natural history professionals and institutions who want to share their innovations, challenges, and opportunities with each other and the wider field of science centers and museums.

The Network is a place where natural history professionals across roles—including collections, community science, curation, education, exhibits, field work, programs, public engagement, and learning research—can make connections, post and access resources, and collectively strengthen the field. The Network also welcomes those who work in other types of science centers and museums and informal learning institutions, as well as those interested in learning from and advancing policy, practices, and research in natural history settings.

By initiating the Newtork ASTC hopes to catalyze connections within and across institutions and roles, facilitate knowledge-building, and cultivate a rich, dedicated Natural History session track at the annual ASTC conference. In doing so, we aspire to serve an interdisciplinary, heterogeneous group of natural history professionals who can help us identify and pursue fruitful lines of inquiry.
