World Science Center Initiative

Following on an agreement signed at the ASTC 2023 Annual Conference in Charlotte, ASTC, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and the National Center “Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” have unveiled the World Science Center Initiative (WSCI), which enables science centers and museums to donate exhibits or educational materials to support science engagement in Ukraine. Managed in cooperation with HUCUS (Help Ukraine Center USA), WSCI provides an easy way for North American institutions to provide materials that will be shipped to Ukraine.

Process Overview

1. ASTC members, at their own expense, pack and ship exhibits and exhibit equipment, along with required documentation, to a designated warehouse in New Jersey, United States 
2. HUCUS receives exhibits and exhibition equipment at a warehouse in the USA, temporarily stores, groups, and loads them into containers for shipment to Ukraine 
3. HUCUS organizes and provides transportation of containers with exhibits and exhibition equipment from USA to Ukraine at its own expense.
4. National Center “Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” organizes and approves relevant documents for receiving exhibits and exhibition equipment as humanitarian aid and unloads exhibits at a warehouse in Kyiv.
