CPPC bestows poster awards at ASTC 2024

As part of its efforts to raise the profile of posters at the ASTC Annual Conference, the Conference Program Planning Committee (CPPC) unveiled a new poster awards program and selected four posters to receive awards at ASTC 2024.

The new awards recognize exemplary posters with respect to features, design, and other elements, providing additional visibility and highlighting elements that make an effective poster. The awards are intended to recognize the poster itself regardless of the merit of the described project.

Members of the CPPC reviewed posters before the opening of the first Poster Palooza session so that ribbons could be placed before attendees even visited the Exhibit Hall. Ribbons were placed on winning posters to draw extra attention.

The CPPC judged posters on the following criteria:

  • A poster that stops people in their tracks
  • A strong message that impacts the field
  • Clear, effective, and efficient design and text
  • Information that has been researched and sources.

The CPPC also provided additional tips to poster presenters to help make their posters most effective.
