AAAS elects ASTC members and science engagement leaders as Fellows

AAAS - American Association for the Advancement of Science The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) has named its new class of AAAS Fellows. Election as a AAAS Fellow is a lifetime honor in recognition of diverse accomplishments, including, research, leadership, teaching, mentoring, fostering collaborations, and advancing public understanding of science. Fellows are nominated by AAAS’ 24 disciplinary sections, three Fellows who are current AAAS members, or by the CEO of AAAS.

Although most of those elected as Fellows are recognized for their scientific research accomplishments, AAAS’ broad membership and diverse sections include a number of individuals associated with ASTC-member organizations or relevant to our field, including the following:

AAAS Fellow rosette Overall, the 2024 class of Fellows includes 471 scientists, engineers, and innovators. The new Fellows will receive a certificate and a gold and blue rosette pin (representing science and engineering, respectively) to commemorate their election and will be celebrated at a forum in Washington, D.C. on June 7, 2025. The 2024 Fellows class were also featured in the AAAS News & Notes section of the journal Science in March 2025.
