At its recent meeting, the ASTC Board of Directors approved five new organizations for membership: three new Science Center and Museums and two new Allied Members.
Consistent with ASTC’s Bylaws, all members must be approved for membership by a majority vote of the ASTC Board of Directors. Organizations wishing to apply for membership should consult the Membership section of the ASTC website. Membership applications can now be completed online!

Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium

The Ocean Isle Museum Foundation operates the Museum of Coastal Carolina on the barrier island of Ocean Isle Beach on the southeast coast of North Carolina. Dioramas, collections, aquariums, a touch tank and interactive exhibits are focused on the ecology and natural history from the coastal plain to the ocean. The Ingram Planetarium, located four miles away, presents traditional star shows, full-dome films and laser music shows and includes a hands-on science hall.

Considered one of the nation’s pioneering science education projects, the museum aims to improve the region’s educational sector, while developing teaching and learning methods that fulfill the Kingdom’s 2030 vision. The center is located in the Qassim region of Saudi Arabia, in the city of Unaizah, with venue space covering 47,000 square meters. The museum features 7 galleries and expects to host 110,000 visitors annually, including student groups and tourists adding the off-the-beaten path destination to their itinerary.
